NEWS & EVENTS
July 7, 2021 | Y'all I have been BUSY lately. So busy, that I haven't had time to announce some huge and wonderful things that are happening for my art career! If you've been following me on social media, you may already know this, but... I am now an artist at the Torpedo Factory Art Center in Alexandria, Virginia! This is a game changer, and truly, SUCH an honor. When I first moved to DC wayyy back in 1990, I used to take pottery classes at the Torpedo Factory, and always looked up to the artists. I believe there is no place quite like it in the DC area, and it has already changed everything for me. If you haven't yet done so, come and visit me in Studio 320! :)

The other amazing thing that's happening is — I'm going to Mexico! Eeeeee! Wayyyyy back in 2020, near the beginning of covid, I was selected for an amazing opportunity — an art residency in Puebla, Mexico! I have to tell you, my friends....knowing that this was in the future has really kept me going during this long and dark year. For someone like me, who feels travel in their bones, it's been a very tough time. I can't tell you how thrilled I am to be getting back out to there! And the art residency with Arquetopia (www.arquetopia.org) looks like it will be absolutely amazeballs!
I've lined up a dear friend for a few pre-residency adventures in San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Oaxaca, and of course, Mexico City. I think Mexico will be perfect for my work — colorful, old and crumbly, and fun! I have been studying Spanish since February (although I still panic when I have to speak! LOL). I'm as ready as I'll ever be!
Beginning in mid July, I plan to send out some simple newsletters with a few images I've captured along the way. I hope you will join me for the journey — if you're not signed up for my email list, please do so!
Cheers,
Jenny
P.S. For my Torpedo Factory friends — my studio will still be open while I'm gone! My lovely intern Hannah will be keeping things going in my stead. So stop on by if you need a gift! Or can't wait any longer to add some art to your walls. She can help you out, or get in touch with me if she can't! :)
