Doors

I remember it like it was yesterday — the day I first took a picture of a door.  It was on my honeymoon in Tuscany, Italy (approximately one bazillion years ago).  We walked past the most heart-stopping portal in a beautiful sienna red color, and suddenly I was entranced.  I snapped a shot, and for the rest of the trip, found myself looking for interesting doors wherever we went.  Thus began a journey that now has lasted over two decades (wow!).  I am constantly on the lookout for that special something that makes a door unique or interesting — they reflect their occupant’s personality, culture, and role in society.  In fact, in many ways, doors are a summary of everything about humanity.  I find them endlessly fascinating.
